A question re on-line voting

Hm. Well, I don't know if they are counted or not.

I personally don't do it, because Darren asked us not to! I vote 3 times - once for each person in my house as we all listen - and each from a different email address as we all have our own. And for my son, I have to put some songs I hate on there as well as Darren, lol!

Sounds a bit excessive to me. That sort of spamming will only piss off the radio stations and have the opposite effect that she was hoping for. That sort of thing is only going to have a detrimental effect on airplay for Darren's stuff.

I've read a thread over on DH BBS that Clare has voted for SR over 340 times for Schooly's 6 slices on Capital. Now, excuse me if I'm wrong, but do multiple votes from the same e-mail addy NOT count(I'm gonna assume here that she doesn't have 340 different e-mail addy's). I thought we weren't into spamming or did that just apply to 'Insatiable'?

I didnt see that thread, but seriously.. who has time or the patience to sit there and vote 340 times?!!? As much as I love the guy, I dont think I could sit there for that long voting!

Hope it doesnt have a negative effect with the radio station as you all mentioned.. What was that SG thing that you mentioned Sue? With the fans overdoing it.. I was never part of the SG BBS so I am clueless..

Hi Jen

Yes, it was something that happened to Savage Garden. I am not sure what country it happened in, but some of the radio stations virtually dropped them because they were getting so much hassle from fans - well-meaning ones, no doubt!

Darren then asked fans to vote honestly - ie request once, at your local station (or one you listen to online, I take that as!) not call a hundred times a day! So I stick to that generally - both to avoid upsetting the radio station folks and because I respect Darren's opinion. [img]smile.gif[/img]

Hey...yo...what's going on? I'm here in London and lurving it! Now.. just wanted to clarify something about requesting etc. You know I'm completely aware and appreciative of everything you all do don't you? Dyan etc.. I am aware of your genius and dedication when it comes to supporting us. The deal is... what we're trying to do is a. keep it honest and b. make it work in the right ways. I still think the coolest way to help any band is just request the music or the video in your area if you want to see it. That's why our management works with CinGreen's Request Page as it encourages this.
but you know.. hey... request away .. we were really just trying to discourage 'protests' and the like because I have a very delicate relationship with radio and always want to make sure it's a mutal admiration society.</font></td></tr></table></td></tr></table></BLOCKQUOTE>

You shouldn't do it, If a song can't make it without 300 consecutive votes from one person then its wasn't ment to be.
